We know the results of this year's competitions for the Awards of Rector of Lodz University of Technology for researchers and doctoral students. The President of the Republic of Poland, by the decision of 30 March, granted two titles of professor of agricultural sciences in the discipline of nutrition and food technology: to Professor Katarzyna Śliżewska, and Professor Joanna Leszczyńska. Both nominees work at the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences at Lodz University of Technology.

In April 2022, Lodz University of Technology started the accession process to the structures of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology Health (EIT Health). The official accession of the university to the European consortium was planned during the meeting of Polish Partners of EIT Health, which will take place at TUL on May 6.

On April 6, the first technological debate entitled "Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a challenge for companies not only from the IT sector" took place. It was attended by invited guests from the IT sector and the representatives of Lodz University of Technology.

A record number of 95,972 works were submitted for this year's Design Biennale in Peru. In the category of visual identification, 9,596 works were submitted, including "The project of a generative system of dynamic visual identification of Lodz University of Technology" Dr Krzysztof Guzek from the Institute of Information Technology at Lodz University of Technology, which was among the three highest rated by the jury.

A team of Robotics students from the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering at Lodz University of Technology has once again achieved international success. They took third place in the grand finals of the World Robot Summit in Japan.

The National Agency Erasmus+ Programme and the European Solidarity Corps awarded Lodz University of Technology the EDUinspirations prize in the Digital Skills category for the international project Virtual Mechatronic Laboratory, coordinated by our university.

In 2015, the United Nations adopted a development strategy for 2030, contained in the resolution "Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development". It contains 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which are a global blueprint for improving people's quality of life. Lodz University of Technology, aware of these challenges and the leading role of the university in overcoming them, has been taking the SDGs into account for years in its educational, scientific and research activities as well as those related to the third mission of the university. The Sustainable Development Team is in charge of their coordination.

Lodz University of Technology was ranked very high in the latest Round University Ranking (RUR) by subject in the Natural Sciences classification. In the education category it moved up 95 places.

In times of pandemic, videos with the participation of Lodz University of Technology authorities are a good form of conveying information about events and undertakings at the university, addressed to the academic community, graduates and the environment cooperating with Lodz University of Technology.

The Polish Accreditation Committee (PKA) has positively assessed the computer science field of study conducted at the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering at TUL. Moreover, PKA Bureau decided to award the faculty with the Certificate of Excellence in the category of Partner for Development. Lodz University of Technology will cooperate with the Municipal Investment Board as part of the "Dobre Praktyki … Buduj z nami Łódź" [Good Internship ... Build Lodz with us] project. Signing the letter of intent is the beginning of the road, and at its end students will gain knowledge and competences expected by the market of large infrastructural investments, including those connected with the area revitalisation programme.

On May 17 (Tuesday), a formal session of the Senate will be held at Lodz University of Technology, dedicated to the promotion of doctors and habilitated doctors as well as the awarding of decorations and distinctions to distinguished TUL staff members.

Researchers from the Institute of Materials Science and Engineering at Lodz University of Technology have developed an innovative technology to produce graphene electrodes for water treatment. Thanks to the use of a new coating they have obtained electrodes that are much more durable in use and, what is most important, much cheaper. Prof. Konrad Dybowski from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, project manager, talks about the invention.
