International programs, project calls and grants

Lodz University of Technology has been actively involved in the European Research Area for over a dozen years. Even before Poland joined the European Union, the TUL researchers participated in the EU Framework Programs, COST Programs, other European programs and initiatives.

In the frame of the 5th Framework Program for Research and Technological Development (1998-2002), the TUL researchers took part in 15 projects, in the frame of the 6th Framework Program (2002 - 2006) - in 30, in the frame of the 7th Framework Program (2007-2013) - in 23 projects.

The current Horizon 2020 framework Program for the years 2014-2020 is another opportunity for intensive integration into research carried out in the international environment.

We give a list of the main programs, project calls and grant bodies that the TUL researchers can use.

Horizon 2020

Horizon 2020 is the biggest EU Research and Innovation programme ever with nearly €80 billion of funding available over 7 years (2014 to 2020) – in addition to the private investment that this money will attract. It promises more breakthroughs, discoveries and world-firsts by taking great ideas from the lab to the market.

Horizon 2020 is open to everyone, it has a simple structure that reduces “red tape” and time so participants can focus on what is really important. This approach makes sure new projects get off the ground quickly – and achieve results faster.
