The just published QS Emerging Europe&Central Asia University Rankings classified 400 universities. Lodz University of Technology was classified on 91st position, up by 10 places in comparison to last year. This is the biggest edition of the ranking so far.

A total of 25 Polish universities were ranked, 17 of which are in the top 100. The best score was achieved by Jagiellonian University (6th place) and Warsaw University (7th place) - informs Justyna Kopańska the leader of the Accreditation and International Rankings Section at International Cooperation Centre. - Globally, Lodz University of Technology performed best in the indicator related to the number of articles per employee - 41st place. On the other hand, when compared to other Polish universities, it received the highest ranking in two indicators: the number of foreign students and the number of employees with a PhD degree. In terms of academic reputation and reputation among employers it took 3rd place in Poland.

The first time Lodz University of Technology was ranked was in 2018; since then its position has increased by 32 positions.

The top of this year's ranking was dominated by Russian and Turkish universities. The podium places went to Lomonosov Moscow State University, University of Tartu and Saint Petersburg State University.

As Justyna Kopańska explains, the methodology of the ranking takes into account the key indicators of the global QS World University Rankings, such as academic reputation, reputation among employers and staff-to-student ratio, but has also been expanded to include region-specific indicators.
