Lodz University of Technology has been listed among the 7 Polish universities classified in the TOP100 in EngiRank 2023 - Institutional Ranking, prepared by the Educational Foundation "Perspektywy" in cooperation with the Foundation for the Development of the Education System and Elsevier.

In the ranking, which included 225 universities, Lodz University of Technology ranked 6th in Poland and 86th in Europe in EngiRank 2023. EngiRank 2023 considered only universities with a significant share of research results in the field of engineering and technology - at least 30% of publications over the last 5 years (2018-2022) indexed in the Scopus database.

In addition to the general classification, thematic rankings were also published. Lodz University of Technology appeared in all 7 rankings. In the national context, TUL took the podium in four categories: 2nd place in Poland in Chemical Engineering (42nd in Europe) and Materials Engineering (79th in Europe), and 3rd place in Electrical, Electronic & Information Engineering (54th in Europe) and Mechanical Engineering (79th in Europe). In other categories, TUL ranked 7th in Poland in Medical Engineering (83rd in Europe) and 8th position in the country in Civil Engineering (94th in Europe) and Environmental Engineering (138th in Europe).

This year's ranking considered universities located in 27 European Union countries, focusing on engineering programs. EngiRank's methodology, in addition to indicators such as publications, citations, and internationalization, also takes into account: cooperation with industry, joint research with businesses, patents, contribution to achieving sustainable development goals, participation in EU programs (Horizon and Erasmus+), and engineering accreditations (ENAEE, ABET).
