This significant project provides about PLN 1 billion of funding for the digitization of public offices. It will be implemented by the Digital Poland Projects Centre(CPPC) and Lodz University of Technology.


The "Digital Commune" document was signed by the Rector of Lodz University of Technology - Professor Krzysztof Jóźwik and the CPPC Director - Mr. Wojciech Szajnar. This means that the new government programme has officially entered the implementation phase.

The condition for participation in the project is to undergo a free cyber-security audit’- informed the Secretary of State for Digitalisation at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, Janusz Cieszyński. The first call for proposals will be launched on 18 October. Local governments can obtain from PLN 100 thousand to 2 million. The funds obtained under the programme may be spent on the digitalization of offices, purchase of computer equipment, training officials to work with modern technologies, or support in the area of cyber security and training.

‘We can feel satisfied, as our activities in the field of digitalization have been noticed and appreciated’ - says the Rector, Professor Krzysztof Jóźwik. Lodz University of Technology, a partner in the project, is responsible for the recruitment, assessment and settlement of submitted applications. This is yet another example of fulfilling the university mission in the area of social responsibility and linking the know-how of our scientists with the needs of the university environment, including all Polish communes in this case.

Lodz University of Technology will be responsible for formal and substantive supervision of applications submitted by communes via a specially created digital platform. After the applications have been evaluated by a committee made up of the university's employees, a grant agreement will be prepared. The university will also be responsible for its settlement. The program will last until the end of 2023.
