In the first stage of the 67th Chemistry Competition, the students of the Public Secondary School of Lodz University of Technology got first place in Poland as a team.

Never before in the history of the TUL Public Secondary School have young chemists, at this stage of the Subject Competition, achieved such great results -says the school principal Tomasz Kozera.

Despite the difficulties associated with pandemics and remote teaching, students of the TUL Public Secondary School do not stop preparing for subject competitions. Recently, the "team of chemists from the TUL Public Secondary School" under the supervision of dr Krzysztof Klimaszewski and dr Elżbieta Szubiakiewicz achieved significant success in the subject competition. As many as 10 students from our high school qualified for the second stage of the 67th Chemistry Competition.

The second-grade student Adam Sukiennik got first place in Poland, and this is not his first success.

Last year, Adam was a member of the team representing Poland at the International Chemistry Competition in Turkey. He was one of the youngest participants of this stage ever - adds director Tomasz Kozera.

This year's graduates- Julia Szyda got 6th place and Grzegorz Kociołek was 11th in Poland. A second-grade student, Patryk Olszewski, who got 17th place, should also be mentioned.

The students of our school also actively participate in other subject competitions, e.g. in physics, biology, English or statistics, and achieve significant success in them as well. The preparatory work for the competitions is coordinated by the teachers of our school. It appears that good organisation of remote teaching does not lower the quality of education or motivation of students to work hard

– emphasises Mr Kozera.
