President Andrzej Duda has granted professorship to dr hab. inż. Volodymyr Mosorov from the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering of Lodz University of Technology.

Professor Volodymyr Mosorov graduated with an MSc degree from the Department of Telecommunications at Lviv Polytechnic National University in 1983. He obtained a PhD degree at the same Department in 1998. He has been working at the Department (now: Institute) of Applied Computer Science of Lodz University of Technology since October 2000.

In 2009 he defended a habilitation thesis entitled "Processing and analysis of video information concerning chosen objects and industrial processes by using a CCD camera and process tomography” at the now called Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering of AGH University of Science and Technology, Cracow. Having obtained a postdoctoral degree in the field of computer science, he continued working at the Department of Applied Computer Science and was promoted to the position of an associate professor.

While working at Lodz University of Technology, he has been a visiting researcher a few times, among others at the University of Bergen (Norway, 2008) and the Malaysian Nuclear Agency (Malaysia, 2009-2010).

Professor Mosorov’s research interests concern the analysis and processing of information obtained from measurement systems, including medical systems.

Professor Volodymyr Mosorov is the author of 5 monographs, over 65 articles in indexed journals, including 23 published in journals indexed in Journal Citation Reports. According to the Scopus database, the number of citations has now reached 395. Professor Mosorov has supervised two doctoral dissertations. In 2012, he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland.

Professor Volodymyr Mosorov is now managing projects financed by the Polish National Centre for Research and Development: “Device for non-invasive monitoring and diagnosis of functional disorders of the lower urinary tract” (2020-2022) and “A system of non-invasive monitoring and diagnosis of functional disorders of the lower urinary tract by means of electric and ultrasound tomography” (2021-2023) of a total value of over 16 million PLN.

Professor Volodymyr Mosorov also holds a licentiate in moral theology.
