The National Centre for Research and Development will co-finance a project from Lodz University of Technology concerning the education of specialists for the needs of key sectors of the economy. The university will receive 8 million PLN for this purpose from the European Funds for Social Development (FERS) program, which replaced the Knowledge Education Development (POWER) program.

We want to adapt the offer of Lodz University of Technology to the needs of economic development and such transformations that will reverse the process of environmental degradation, while bringing benefits for production efficiency and positively influencing social development, said Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik, Rector of TUL and project manager.

The project from TUL concerns study programs related to energy using renewable energy sources and transport, which educate specialists in fields important for the economy. The scope of activities includes modifying the study program in the fields of: energy, transport, electronics and telecommunications (in English), and logistics.

The funds obtained thanks to EU support will allow students and staff to develop competencies related to green transformation, universal design, as well as in the field of entrepreneurship and digital competencies, adds the Rector of TUL.

Financial support from FERS is planned for the 5-year duration of the project
