During the Gala, Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik, Rector of Lodz University of Technology, received the award for the best academic sports event in 2022 - the European Universities Games, which took place in Lodz, and Lodz University of Technology was the main organizer.
This is a great satisfaction, after a long period of hard work and many adversities, such as a pandemic or war in Ukraine. From my point of view, the most pleasant thing was to see the joy of all the students, who enjoyed every moment. I am very proud of my team. This group was inexperienced in organizing such huge events and they managed. A huge thank you to the Ministry of Education and Science, the University Sports Association and the Ministry of Sports and Tourism. If it weren't for this support it would have been a problem. As the Rector of Lodz University of Technology, which was the main organizer, I can say that from the subsidy, which is intended for the basic activities of the university, I did not even reach for a single penny
said the Rector of Lodz University of Technology while receiving the award.
The award was also given to student-athletes from Lodz University of Technology for taking 3rd place in the medal classification of the Academic Championships of Poland.
The Academic Sports Gala was traditionally organized by the University Sports Association.
