For nearly 145 000 PLN, Lodz University of Technology will carry out tree maintenance works and new planting in the historic Bishop Michał Klepacz Park.


Environmental Protection and Water Management Fund to carry out tree care activities and maintain the proper health and aesthetic condition of trees in the park. Maintenance cuts and new planting have been planned. These works will positively influence the natural values of the tree stand and the aesthetics of the park entered into the register of monuments.

Many new species of trees and shrubs will appear in Klepacz Park, including: new "Ola" apple trees (8 trees) and small-leaved lime trees "Greenspire" (6 trees). There will also be oaks, goldcaps and a number of other individual specimens, such as the American tulip tree and the 'Fakubana' rose cherry. A host of flowering shrubs will be planted: 16 bouquet hydrangeas, 5 magnolias, 30 azaleas, 23 rhododendrons and 30 tavulas. There will also be new lilacs and kalines. In total, nearly 140 new plantings of deciduous and coniferous trees and shrubs of various varieties are planned. The works will start soon.

Klepacz Park was established in 1906. The greenery in it consists of around 230 trees. The greenery here consists of around 230 trees, 24 of which have been entered on the list of nature monuments. Among the most magnificent is the pedunculate oak "Fabrykant", characterised by powerful branches - the span of the crown reaches over 30 m. Since 2017, the park is owned by Lodz University of Technology.
