An exceptional Open Day will take place at Lodz University of Technology this year. We would like to invite you on 14 March - the International Day of Mathematics, to a number of attractive classes, meetings and debates, prepared in the Alchemium building (Żeromskiego 114), in several special zones.

- Throughout the event, we will be trying to tame mathematics, which is omnipresent in our lives, the organizers explain the main purpose of the event. Several meetings are also planned as part of the 16th "Dziewczyny na politechniki" campaign, which encourages young women to study technology and science.

SCIENCE ZONE

More than 40 lectures, laboratories and scientific demonstrations have been prepared in this zone. The series will begin with a meeting with Prof. Anna Fabijańska from the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering, the youngest female professor at TUL. We invite you to her lecture entitled IT is a woman. Prof. Maria Koziolkiewicz, from the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences, will talk about the enormous impact of vitamin D3 on our health during her talk: Vitamin D3 - the still mysterious regulator 1000.

DISCOVERY ZONE

In the Discovery Zone, there will be more than a dozen stands where student research clubs will present their achievements and staff from the various faculties will talk about their fields of study. Here you will be able to experience a forensic adventure entitled: Corpse at the Faculty of Chemistry, or an Imperfect Crime. Using various analytical techniques, several clues will be tested to solve the mystery. Students from the KOLLAPS Student Research Club invite you to a workshop on making homemade cosmetics: 3 cosmetics from 14 ingredients. Future mechanical engineers from the 3D Printing Student Research Club will show How to print yourself a future in 3D.

INSPIRATION ZONE

We invite you to the Inspiration Zone for meetings with career coaches, specialists from the Careers Office at TUL, and a special guest, Nieobliczalny Partyk, who will help you prepare for your maths matura exam. Here you will be able, as part of the Dziewczyny na politechniki campaign, to take advantage of workshops with a coach, Alicja Rasmus. The psychologist will conduct a workshop: The first step to a career, or how to choose the right course of study, which will prepare you for a conscious choice of your educational path. The next meeting with a counsellor and career coach will be hosted by Ewa Worotyńska-Kos, who will explain How to read people? This will be an analysis of our appearance and body language.

Two debates are also planned in this zone. The first concerns Career Paths after Lodz University of Technology. It will be attended by young scientists, graduates of Lodz University of Technology and representatives of companies cooperating with the university: Ewa Kwiecińska from Faurecia and Piotr Wolankiewicz from Rossmann. It will be moderated by Grzegorz Liśkiewicz, PhD, from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. The second debate, Study abroad with TUL, will be devoted to the possibility of taking part in studies at foreign universities. This topic will be moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dorota Piotrowska, Head of the International Cooperation Centre. Magdalena Hebdowska, a graduate and president of the IFE Alumni Association, will be a special guest.

At the TUL information stand, you will be able to find out about the admission rules and receive answers to all questions related to studying at Lodz University of Technology. The organizers of this year's Open Day invite participants to take part in various competitions and take commemorative 360-degree photos on a mathematical wall. There will also be an opportunity to visit individual faculties of Lodz Technical University, located in one of the most beautiful campuses in Poland. Registration for all Open Day activities is compulsory for organized groups. Registration links can also be found in the Open Day programme. Individual visitors are invited to the Science Zone and the Inspiration Zone. Admission to these activities will be held until spaces are filled.
