The Centrum Mistrzostwa Informatycznego (CMI) program was one of the largest projects in education. Lodz University of Technology, the leader of the project, partnered with the universities of technology in Gdańsk, Warsaw, Wrocław, with the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, and with the I Love Math and Digital Dialog associations. Although the project is now completed, the efforts to advance the development of young IT talents have not ceased.

The agreements between Lodz University of Technology, the schools participating in the CMI project, and Huawei, signed in the rector's office, formalized the donation of dozens of servers. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the schools from all over Poland, the donation beneficiaries.

TUL Rector prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik remarked:

‘Today, digital competence are likened to a master key, a single key that opens many different doors to a professional career. Today, after five years, we can confidently report that as a result of the CMI project, 1,500 teachers improved their digital competence, whereas 40,000 young people further developed their talent in this field. I extend my gratitude to Huawei for donating the servers that will host the educational materials designed in the course of the project.’

Referring to relations with Huawei, the TUL rector went on to say: ‘Our cooperation includes support for the Seeds For The Future program provided by TUL's Information Technology Center by way of identifying the best talent from TUL to participate in it. TUL also takes advantage of the Huawei Academy platform, i.e. it has access to the latest technologies offered by the company. Last but least, recently, our students pursuing degrees in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning fared very well in the Huawei Tech Arena Poland Competition, achieving high scores.’

The schools will put the equipment they have been given to use in helping school students build their competence during their classes and workshops. The agreement was signed on their behalf by the representative of the Chairman of the Board the I Love Math association, Waldemar Wyka, who conceded that digital competence is hard to achieve without adequate hardware, something that is in short supply in schools these days.

Ryszard Hordyński, Strategy and Communications Director Huawei Polska, inked the agreement on behalf of the company. He said

‘Huawei has a long history of supporting Polish higher education and digital education through its partnerships with universities, e.g., Lodz University of Technology. Serving the Polish market for two decades now, we have completed many educational outreach initiatives aimed at high-achieving students with the potential to shape the future of technology. We understand how important it is, in view of the challenges facing the modern economy, to build bridges between business and academia. The educational initiatives we undertake, such as Seeds for the Future, ICT Academy, and ICT Competition, offer students the opportunity to combine theoretical knowledge with practical skills. We are also the main partner of the 'Girls Choose Polytechnics' action, because we are committed to strengthening the numbers and role of women in the technology industry. Today we have embarked on another venture: one to support schools and school students by donating equipment. We hope that through our joint efforts and cooperation with educational institutions we will indeed ramp up digital skills, thus furthering the digital advancement of society as a whole.
