Collaboration for patient safety

Lodz University of Technology and the District Hospital in Szamotuły signed a letter of intent on July 29, whereby they will cooperate in the implementation of the AnBaCo project “Zol-gel antibacterial layers containing carbon nanoparticles”. Its purpose is to verify the action of antibacterial layers zol-gel under hospital conditions.

In the Rector's office, at a wooden table, the Rector of Lodz University of Technology Krzysztof Jóźwik, the Director of the Szamotuły Hospital Remigiusz Pawelczyk and Beata Hanyżak, the Starost of Szamotuły sit and sign documents.

Signatories of the document were Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik - rector of TUL and director of the Turbomachinery Institute, as well as Remigiusz Pawelczak - director of the District Hospital in Szamotuły.

Thanks to the work of a team of scientists, it will be possible to assess the effectiveness of antibacterial layers used inside public buildings.

The AnBaCo project will be implemented by Lodz University of Technology in cooperation with the Technical University of Liberec and the company TERMEX from Koszalin. The coordinator of the project on the part of TUL is Dr Eng. Anna Karczemska.
