On the University of Twente campus (Netherlands), the European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU) celebrated its 25th anniversary.

On this occasion (15 December), representatives of the 14 ECIU member universities met to discuss further cooperation in the field of innovative education, joint research, knowledge exchange and modes of governance in higher education. The anniversary celebrations were accompanied by a special ECIU exhibition 'Back to the Future'. With films, animations, quizzes, photos, studies and magazines, the exhibition showcased all the ECIU's achievements, in a very attractive way. The virtual exhibition can be viewed here.

Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik, Rector of Lodz University of Technology, who attended the celebrations, said:

As a member of ECIU, we create a common space to solve the challenges facing European universities. We do this in an innovative way by providing individual opportunities for learning and careers, including research, at the European level, enabled by ECIU's innovative university model, based on co-creation. We look forward to many more years of cooperation with the universities in the consortium.

Lodz University of Technology also has a long, albeit turbulent, history of ECIU membership, but has only been part of the network's structures again for a year. For the anniversary exhibition, TUL also prepared a short film, entitled "ECIUman. Origins.", focusing on the future of the consortium. Watch the film, which presents the prospects for ECIU learners. - The resemblance to fictional characters is not coincidental, say the authors of the material.
