During the meeting, a review was made of the European Academic Games Łódź 2022 (EUG) hosted by the university. The assembly attendees expressed much positive feedback to Lodz University of Technology and the co-hosts about the quality of the organization of the Games.
During the EUSA Awards Ceremony 2023, distinguished with the highest EUSA honor, the Order of Merit, was Rector of Lodz University of Technology, prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik. The decoration was awarded in recognition of his commitment to the development and furtherance of university athletics in Europe, in particular for his outstandingly efficient management of the European Universities Games 2022 undertaking. Another person from TUL who was recognized was mgr inż. Dominik Leżański, EUG Games coordinator, who was awarded the EUSA Medal of Appreciation.
Commenting on the awarded distinctions, Rector prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik said,
'I am pleased that the organizational success of a major event as the European Academic Games has been recognized by EUSA. The awards show that the tremendous work we did for the furtherance of European academic athletics, but also to boost Poland and Łódź's visibility, has not only been noticed, but also appreciated, although awards were not what we had in mind when we embarked on this organizational challenge. I am convinced that Lodz University of Technology is remembered by universities in Europe as a fine host and a great place to study, too. To all involved in this great and beautiful undertaking, I wish to extend my sincere thanks once again.’
