The ranking compiled by The Study Abroad Aide looks at those universities that excel at providing a perfect balance of top-notch education and affordability. It is primarily geared toward students who consider studying abroad and may be used as a resource for making an informed decision about their future academic destination.
The ranking considered more than 8,000 universities from 69 countries. 126 Polish universities were classified, but only 6 of them made it to the Top1000, among them just two universities of technology - AGH (923rd place) and TUL (979th place). The Jagiellonian University and the University of Warsaw performed best ending up in the TOP500 of this global review.
Rector prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik, in reference to the ranking, emphasized:
'In our effort to respond to practical needs of international students, we operate a Welcome Point, a central information and service point, at Lodz University of Technology. It offers the necessary information and guidance on how to cope in a new environment in a foreign country. It offers assistance with the formalities of the visa procedure, with finding suitable accommodation, with getting your head around the local policies, health care service providers, insurance and so much more, including psychological support in times of emotional distress.’
The Rector went on to add:
‘I am pleased to see TUL included in the ranking of the world's best universities that strive for academic excellence, but at the same time promote inclusivity, diversity, and student satisfaction.’
The universities were ranked based on two sets of indicators: affordability (25% weighting) and academic reputation (75% weighting).
Ranked in the global top three positions were the University of Oxford, Harvard University, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
