on the rules of recruitment to the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School

of Lodz University of Technology in the academic year 2020/2021

I. GENERAL PROVISIONS

§ 1

1. Legal basis: Article 200 (2) of the Act of 20 July 2018 - Law on Higher Education and Science (i.e. Journal of Laws of 2020, item 85, as amended.

2. The terms used in this resolution shall mean:

1) The Office for Persons with Disabilities- hereinafter referred to as BON;

2) Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of the Lodz University of Technology - hereinafter referred to as IDS TUL

3) The applicant- a candidate for the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology;

4) Lodz University of Technology - hereinafter referred to as TUL;

5) Scientific Council of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology - hereinafter referred to as the Scientific Council of IDS TUL;

6) Senate of Lodz University of Technology - hereinafter referred to as the Senate;

7) The University Council of the Government of Doctoral Students of Lodz University of Technology – hereinafter referred to as URSD TUL.

3. The education of doctoral students at Lodz University of Technology takes place at the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology.

§ 2

1. Admissions to IDS TUL is competition-based.

2. Admission of candidates to IDS TUL takes place after completing the application process, which is based on: the grade awarded for the completion of second-cycle studies, uniform master’s studies or equivalent and a score obtained during an interview.

3. Admissions of candidates to IDS TUL who are beneficiaries of the "Diamond Grant" program and admission of candidates who, pursuant to a decision of the Disciplinary Board, were referred to IDS TUL, follow the application process based on: the grade entered on the first-cycle diploma of graduation or the weighted average grade obtained by the candidate during studies (i.e. when the candidate is undergoing uniform master's studies) and the grade from the interview conducted in English. In exceptional situations, the interview may be conducted in Polish in accordance with § 4 (7-9). Detailed rules for awarding scores in individual disciplines are set out in Annex no 4 to this Resolution.

4. The application process for IDS TUL is conducted in accordance with the announcement on the start of the recruitment and the schedule approved by the Director of IDS TUL, published on the website of IDS TUL.

5. The applicant is obliged to comply with the deadlines and activities specified in the announcement on the start of recruitment and the schedule of the application process.

6. In justified cases admission of candidates to IDS TUL is allowed outside the indicated schedule of the application process. Two cases are allowed:

1) launching supplementary recruitment, in a situation in which the Chairman of the Disciplinary Board has reported an additional demand to the Director of IDS TUL for a given academic year in a given discipline. The application together with the justification of the demand must be delivered to the Director of IDS TUL at the latest three months before the beginning of the semester at which doctoral student education should begin;

2) launching recruitment for the project, in the event of an additional request to launch recruitment by Scientific Project Managers.

7. In the case described in par. 6 (1) The Director of IDS TUL submits an application to the Rector of TUL for launching supplementary recruitment. The decision to launch supplementary recruitment is made by the Rector of TUL.

8. In the case described in par. 6 (2) the Project Manager, to whom the doctoral student is to be recruited, submits an application to the Rector of TUL for launching recruitment for the project. The application contains an indication of how the doctoral student should be financed, including the doctoral scholarship (including the amount, period of funding), the expected profile of the candidate, proposed supervisor and the positive opinion of the Disciplinary Board Chairman. The decision on starting recruitment is made by the Rector of TUL. The application together with the decision of the Rector of TUL must be delivered to the Director of IDS TUL at least three months before the beginning of the semester at which doctoral student education should begin.

9. In the situations described in par. 6-8, the Director of IDS TUL directs a doctoral student who has been entered on the list of PhD students of IDS TUL for the relevant semester of education.

10. All interested candidates may participate in supplementary recruitment to IDS TUL.

11. Only candidates who have the recommendation of the Project Manager for whom the recruitment is carried out may participate in the recruitment to the project. The Project Manager expresses his recommendation by signing the statement constituting Annex no 3 to this Resolution. In this case, the Project Manager themselves conducts the first stage of selection of the candidate or candidates.

12. A non-returnable fee is charged for the application process, which is set by the Rector of TUL. The fee amount and how it should be paid are set out in the recruitment announcement.

§ 3

The applicant shall start the application process with selecting one discipline in which the program of study will be provided and in which the doctoral dissertation will be carried out.

The applicant who has not been accepted in the first recruitment in a given academic year may take part in supplementary recruitment in the same discipline in the same academic year, after paying the recruitment fee again.

The applicant who has not been accepted in the first recruitment in a given academic year may not take part in supplementary recruitment in another discipline in the same academic year.

II. RULES OF APPLICATION PROCESS

§ 4

1. Applicants for IDS TUL are qualified on the basis of the grade entered on the diploma of graduation of second-cycle studies, uniform master's studies or equivalent and grade from the interview conducted in English.

2. It is permitted to conduct a long-distance interview by means of electronic communication with a simultaneous transmission of video and audio. Long-distance interviews are carried out in cooperation with TUL IT Centre. The applicant submits their application to the Admissions Committee for a long-distance interview in accordance with § 7 (1) item 9, indicating in the application the information needed to conduct the interview.

3. Lodz University of Technology is not responsible for technical problems related to the connection or selected means of electronic communication that occur on the side of the applicant. The applicant is obliged to ensure the appropriate quality of the internet connection and the suitability of the tool that will be made available to the members of the Admissions Committee through which it will be possible to identify the applicant. In a situation where the Admissions Committee has doubts regarding the identification of the applicant, the Committee may decide to resign from continuing or conducting the interview, which is tantamount to the end of the application process with a zero score in the category "interview result".

4. In the event that a long-distance interview cannot be conducted for technical reasons or the applicant did not appear for the scheduled date of the interview, the Admissions Committee may decide to repeat the interview at a different time or to cancel the interview, which is tantamount to the end of the application process with a zero score in the category "result of the interview".

5. The Admissions Committee may decide to record video or audio from the interview conducted at Lodz University of Technology. In the case of an interview with an applicant from abroad, the Admissions Committee must video record the interview. Recordings of interviews are kept by the Recruitment Committees for the purpose of conducting the application process for a period of 1 calendar year from the date of the interview, after which they are appropriately disposed of.

6. By entering the application process, the applicant consents to recording of the image or sound and its subsequent storage. The candidate's consent to recording video and audio is a formal and necessary condition to participate in recruitment to IDS TUL.

7. In the case of recruitment to IDS TUL under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education "implementation doctorate" [MNiSW ‘doktorat wdrożeniowy] the interview can be conducted in Polish. The decision in this matter is made by the Admissions Committee The applicant entering the application process for IDS TUL, for whom the interview is conducted in Polish, is aware that education at IDS TUL takes place in English and pursuant to Article 186(1) item 2 of the Act - Law on Higher Education and Science, a doctoral degree is awarded to a person who has obtained learning outcomes for qualifications at level 8 of the Polish Qualification Framework (PRK), while the learning outcomes for a modern foreign language are confirmed by a certificate or a diploma of graduation at a minimum B2 level.

8. If the interview is conducted in Polish, the applicant is required to present a certificate confirming knowledge of a modern language other than English at a minimum B2 level. There is a possibility of taking an exam in English, French, German, Spanish and Russian and obtaining a certificate issued by the TUL Language Center, for which a fee is charged. The amount of the fee, the manner and date of payment, as well as the date of the examinations are set by the Director of TUL Language Center.

III. CLASSIFICATION RULES

§ 5

1. The basis for the classification of candidates for IDS TUL is the sum of points (s) calculated in accordance with the principles set out below:

s = d + r

d - number of points resulting from the conversion of the grade entered on the diploma of graduation of second-cycle studies, uniform master's studies or equivalent;

r - a score obtained from the interview.

Classification rules for individual disciplines are set out in Annex no 4 to this Resolution.

2. The score (r) of the interview consists of grades in the following categories:

I. Assessment of predispositions and scientific interests as well as the proposed scope of research,

II. Assessment of language competences,

III. Evaluation of the candidate's past achievements and scientific and/or artistic contribution related to the discipline.

Scoring within given categories for individual disciplines is specified in Annex no 4 to this Resolution.

§ 6

1. The application process for IDS TUL is conducted by Admissions Committees appointed by the Council of the appropriate discipline for a period of one year.

2. The membership, specific tasks and procedures of the Admissions Committee are set out in Annex no 1 to this Resolution.

§ 7

1. The applicant for IDS TUL is obliged to submit the following documents:

1) application for admission to the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology;

2) a diploma of graduation of second-cycle studies, and in the case of beneficiaries of the "Diamond Grant" program or persons referred to IDS TUL by the decision of the Disciplinary Board a certificate of graduation of first-cycle studies. In the case of a candidate undergoing second-cycle education or as part of uniform master's studies, a certificate of weighted average grades obtained by the candidate during the second-cycle or uniform master's studies should be provided.

3) in the case of the applicant who has completed their first or second degree education or is currently undergoing second degree education or as part of uniform master's studies in the European Union, a certificate supplement containing information on the course of studies and obtained credits issued by the university which issued the certificate is also required. If the university has not issued a certificate supplement or the supplement does not contain the necessary information about the course of studies, the applicant shall provide the so-called Transcript of records (ToR) according to Annex 2 to this Resolution, which is completed and approved (signed) by the university that issued the certificate. Only the submission of ToR that complies with the above requirements and that conforms to the template in Annex no 2 and has all the necessary elements will be considered as fulfilling this condition.

4) CV containing, among others, a list of applicant’s scientific and/or artistic achievements and other achievements (in English) related to the scientific discipline referred to in § 3 (1);

5) a statement by the academic supervisor, head of the unit in which the doctoral dissertation will be carried out, and consent of the Discipline Chairman according to the form constituting Annex 3 to this Resolution;

6) the proposed topic and scope of research together with the rationale of the issue, agreed with the academic supervisor (in English);

7) copies of documents confirming knowledge of foreign languages - if one has them;

8) two signed passport photographs of the applicant enabling their identification;

9) application for a long-distance interview - if applicable;

10) statement of the applicant according to the form constituting Annex no 5 to this Resolution;

11) other documents included in the announcement on the schedule of application process for IDS TUL.

2. In addition, foreign applicants or applicants with Polish citizenship, with certificates referred to in item 1, issued by foreign universities are required to provide the following documents:

1) legalization or apostille: a diploma together with a document confirming the course of studies of the first and second degree (e.g. supplement or ToR in accordance with Annex no 2 to the Resolution);

2) a statement that the obtained second degree diploma entitles the Applicant to education in IDS TUL and to apply for a doctoral degree in the country where the certificate was issued, issued by the university which issued the diploma;

3) in the case of foreigners - current health certificate and no contraindications to undertake education at the doctoral school (in Polish or English);

4) for foreigners - a high-quality color photocopy of the passport;

5) other documents and confirmations required by IDS TUL in order to identify the candidate, confirm their personal information and the accuracy of the documents provided.

3. Articles 323-328 of the Act - Law on Higher Education and Science apply to foreign candidates.

4. Copies of documents confirming the scientific and / or artistic achievements indicated in the CV and other achievements shall be provided by the applicant together with the documentation referred to in paragraph 1. A candidate is required to submit a translation of the titles of academic achievements if they are in a language other than Polish or English.

5. The deadline for submitting and completing the recruitment documentation referred to in paragraph 1 expires on the day of the deadline for submitting documents specified in the application process schedule.

6. In justified cases, the IDS TUL Office or the Admissions Committee may ask the applicant to provide additional documents within a specified period or to submit a translation of other documents or materials constituting the recruitment documentation.

7. In the event that the documents listed in para. 1 have been issued in a language other than Polish or English, it is required to provide, together with the recruitment documentation, their certified translation into Polish or English together with the legalization referred to in para. 2.

8. If the applicant indicates a scientific supervisor from outside of Lodz University of Technology, the applicant shall provide an application to the Council of the appropriate discipline justifying the choice of a given supervisor, a list of his / her scientific achievements and a scientific profile. The Council of the relevant discipline verifies the candidate for the supervisor before starting the application process. In the event of a negative verification of a candidate for a supervisor, the applicant may not proceed to the recruitment process. The Council of the appropriate discipline may appoint an additional academic tutor from TUL for such an applicant. The applicant attaches the decision to the recruitment documentation.

9. The application which does not contain at least one element referred to in this paragraph, or does not allow to verify the information necessary to conduct the application process, or has not been submitted in the form required by this Resolution, or not in accordance with the Resolution or the announcement on the recruitment process referred to in §2(5) is left without consideration.

§ 8

1. In the case of applicants with a disability or chronic disease whose health condition prevents participation in the application process, the organization of interviews takes place in cooperation with The Office for Persons with Disabilities.

2. In the situation described in par. 1 the applicant submits an application to the Committee for Granting of Individual Support to People with Disabilities at TUL together with a justification, no later than 30 days before the scheduled date of the interview, for the amended form of the application process to be used on the basis of copies of medical documentation or / and supporting documents confirming the disability. The Committee may decide to ask for supplementing the medical records.

3. The Committee for Granting of Individual Support to People with Disabilities at TUL shall, on the basis of an examination of the medical records and an interview with the applicant within 14 days of the submission of the application, decide on the recognition of the special circumstances requiring the application of the amended form of the application process.

4. In the case of a positive decision, the BON Manager requests the Admissions Committee to apply a changed form of proceedings adapted to the degree and type of disability or the health status of the applicant. The BON Manager indicates in the application the recommended form of conducting the application process.

5. Detailed rules for the granting of support are laid down in the "Regulations for the granting of individual support within the framework of an individual grant for tasks related to ensuring conditions for the full participation of disabled persons in the process of admission to degree programs, doctoral schools, education at degree programs and doctoral schools or conducting research activities (Article 365, item 6 of the Act of 20 July 2018. - Law on Higher Education and Science) in force at Lodz University of Technology.

§ 9

1. The results of the application process are public and subject to public disclosure.

2. The announcement of the results of the application process contains:

1) names and surnames of applicants;

2) the number of points awarded to individual applicants as part of the evaluation (d);

3) the number of points awarded to individual applicants as part of the evaluation (r);

4) the final result (s) of the application process obtained by individual applicants;

5) explicit information on whether the applicant has been conditionally qualified for IDS TUL.

3. The applicant conditionally qualified for IDS TUL is entered on the list of doctoral students by the Director of IDS TUL after a prompt delivery of the original documents listed in § 7 and personal appearance in the IDS TUL Office for the oath.

4. The deadline for delivery of the documents referred to in paragraph 3 is 14 days from the date of the announcement of the results of the contest. In the case of foreign applicants, the Director may decide to extend the deadline, up to a maximum of three months. After the lapse of the deadlines indicated, decisions are issued refusing admission to the IDS TUL.

5. The refusal of admission to the IDS TUL takes place by means of an administrative decision. The decision on refusal of admission to the IDS TUL is issued by the Rector of Lodz University of Technology.

6. The applicant is entitled to apply for reconsideration of the decision to refuse admission to IDS TUL, which should be submitted to the Rector of Lodz University of Technology. The basis for an appeal may only be an indication of a violation of the recruitment conditions and rules set out in this resolution.

IV. FINAL PROVISIONS

§ 10

1. By taking part in the recruitment to IDS TUL, the applicant consents to the processing and storage of personal data for the purposes of the application process and the publication of the results of the application process.

2. All personal data provided by applicants for recruitment purposes is stored in accordance with applicable regulations.

3. By taking part in recruitment to IDS TUL, the applicant confirms that they have read the rules of recruitment to IDS TUL set out in this Resolution and are aware of the principles of education at IDS TUL and the requirements that must be met by an applicant for a doctoral degree in TUL.

§ 11

The resolution enters into force on March 30, 2020.

Annex no 1

MEMBERSHIP, SPECIFIC TASKS AND PROCEDURES
OF THE ADMISSIONS COMMITTEES

The membership and procedure for appointing the Admissions Committee

§ 1

1. The Admissions Committee is appointed by the Rector of TUL based on the recommendation of the appropriate discipline Council for a period of one year.

2. The membership of the Admissions Committee is published on the IDS TUL website.

3. The Admissions Committee consists of:

1) three representatives of the discipline in which curriculum will be conducted with at least a doctoral degree, including a minimum of one representative with a postdoctoral degree, delegated by the Council of the relevant discipline, with two of them, including one with a postdoctoral degree, present during the interview;

2) a representative of the TUL Language Centre delegated by the TUL Language Centre Director;

3) a representative of the Scientific Council of IDS TUL delegated by the Chairperson of the Scientific Council of IDS TUL;

4) a representative of the University Council of the Government of Doctoral Students of Lodz University of Technology without voting rights.

4. The members of the Committee elect a Chairperson and a Secretary from among themselves. A representative of The University Council of the Government of Doctoral Students cannot fulfill any of these roles.

5. During the interview, the room may contain administrative and technical service employees, employees of the TUL IT Center, employees of TUL BON or the Applicant's guardian (s) referred to in § 8 of the Resolution. In addition, persons invited by the Chairperson of the Committee may participate in the meetings of the Committee without voting rights.

6 Members of the Admissions Committees undergo a training on the rules of recruitment procedure for the IDS TUL before the recruitment. Participation in such training is compulsory.

§ 2

1. In justified cases, the Rector of TUL may, at the request of the Director of IDS TUL, change or supplement the membership of the Admissions Committee during the term of their office.

2. In the event of circumstances preventing a member of the Admissions Committee from participating in the work of the Committee, the Chairperson of the Disciplinary Board appoints a new member of the Admissions Committee.

3 If the Admissions Committee assessing the applicant includes the applicant's supervisor or former supervisor, they are not present during the interview with the Applicant, which is reflected in the minutes of the meeting of the Committee. The provision of para. 1 and 2 shall apply.

4. The members of the Admissions Committee are required to maintain impartiality and objectivity in assessing applicants or formulating opinions on them, and inform the other members of the Admissions Committee of any circumstances that may affect their impartiality and objectivity in making the evaluation.

5. The Admissions Committee decides to exclude a member of the Committee from the evaluation procedure of a given Applicant, which is reflected in the minutes of the meeting of the Committee. The provision of para. 1 and 2 shall apply.

Operating procedure of the Admissions Committee

§ 3

1. Resolutions of the Admissions Committee are adopted by a simple majority of votes in the presence of at least four members of the Committee. In the event of an equal number of votes, the Chairperson has the casting vote.

2. The meetings of the Admissions Committee are recorded and the minutes are signed by the members of the Committee who participated in the meeting.

3. Remuneration is payable to the Admissions Committee, with the exception of representatives of the University Council of the Government of Doctoral Students of Lodz University of Technology. The method and rules of remuneration are defined by the Rector.

Specific tasks of the Admissions Committee

§ 4

1. The Admissions Committee tasks include in particular:

1) conducting the application process, and in justified cases conducting the application process in cooperation with BON or TUL IT Center, in particular:

a) assessment of the Applicant's compliance with the formal requirements needed for applying for admission to the IDS TUL,

b) assessment of the course of studies leading to the obtaining of a first- or second-degree diploma, including their adequacy to the chosen discipline of education in the IDS TUL;

2) preparing minutes of the Admissions Committee meeting;

3) preparing a list containing the results of the application process and submitting them to the IDS TUL Office immediately after completing the qualification procedure, no later than within 3 days from the date of the interview;

4) formulating an opinion for the Rector of TUL or the IDS TUL Director when considering requests for reconsideration;

5) in the case described in § 4 para. 6 of the Resolution, informing the Applicant about recording of the image or sound from the interview.

2. The list containing the results of the application process is signed by the members of the Admissions Committee who participated in the application process.

1.3. If the scale of grades in force at the university which issued the diploma differs from the above, the numerical value d will be calculated as follows:

d = k × 30

k - the quotient of the grade from the university diploma of graduation over the maximum grade in force at the university which issued the diploma.

1.4. In the case where there is no grade in the diploma of graduation of second-cycle studies, uniform master's studies or equivalent, and in the case of persons referred to the IDS TUL by the decision of the Discipline Board undergoing uniform master's studies, the numerical value d will be calculated as follows:

d = k × 30

k - the quotient of the weighted average of all grades obtained in the course of second-cycle studies, uniform master’s studies or equivalent by the maximum grade in force at the university which issued the diploma or at which the applicant is studying.

1.5. Winners of the Diamond Grant competition and students who have received the "Minister's Scholarship for students for significant achievements" receive the maximum number of points in this category (30 points).

2. The score (r) of the interview consists of grades in the following categories:

I. Assessment of predispositions and scientific interests as well as the proposed scope of research,

a) presentation (0-20 points),

b) ability to discuss and argue a point with the use of scientific language (0-10 points),

c) proposed scope and topic of research (0-10 points),

d) originality or innovation of the undertaken research (0-10 points).

II. Assessment of language competences (0-10 points),

III. Evaluation of the applicant's past achievements and scientific and/or artistic contribution related to the discipline.

3. The final result of the interview is equal to the sum of points obtained in point 2.

4. Only applicants who have obtained at least 35 points from the interview, including at least 5 points in category II, will proceed further in the application process, otherwise the result of the interview will be zero.

5. Only applicants who have obtained a grade higher than zero will proceed further in the application process.

6. The applicant who has obtained a total score of minimum 70 points may be accepted to the IDS TUL.

Description of requirements for supervisors:

The Architecture and Urban Planning Discipline Board proposes a list of supervisors from among university employees (including those other than TUL) from the research and teaching or research group who meet statutory requirements, putting emphasis on the scientific achievements of potential supervisors obtained in the last four years.

2. The score (r) of the interview consists of grades in the following categories:

I. Assessment of predispositions and scientific interests as well as the proposed scope of research,
(0-25 points). Winners of the Diamond Grant competition and students who have received the "Minister's Scholarship for students for significant achievements" receive the maximum number of points in this category 25 points.

II. Assessment of language competences (0-10 points),

3. The final result of the interview is equal to the sum of points obtained in point 2.

4. Only applicants who have obtained at least 20 points from the interview, including at least 5 points in category II, will proceed further in the application process, otherwise the result of the interview will be zero.

5. Only applicants who have obtained a grade higher than zero will proceed further in the application process.

6. The applicant who has obtained a total score of minimum 70 points may be accepted to the IDS TUL.

Description of requirements for supervisors:

The Transport and Civil Engineering Discipline Board proposes a list of supervisors from among university employees (including those other than TUL) from the research and teaching or research group who meet statutory requirements, putting emphasis on the scientific achievements of potential supervisors obtained in the last four years.

2. The score (r) of the interview consists of grades in the following categories:

II. Assessment of language competences (0-10 points),

3. The maximum number of points, regardless of other achievements to date, shall be awarded to the Applicant who has obtained at least 40 points according to the scoring included in the list of articles published in scientific journals or peer-reviewed materials from international conferences drawn up in accordance with the regulations issued pursuant to Article 267(2)(2)(b) of the Act of 20 July 2018. - Law on Higher Education and Science, with the number of points awarded to the Applicant for publication being equal to the number of points on this list divided by the number of authors of the paper.

4. The final result of the interview is equal to the sum of points obtained in point 2.

5. Only applicants who have obtained at least 25 points from the interview, including at least 5 points in category II, will proceed further in the application process, otherwise the result of the interview will be zero.

6. Only applicants who have obtained a grade higher than zero will proceed further in the application process.

7. The applicant who has obtained a total score of minimum 70 points may be accepted to the IDS TUL.

Description of requirements for supervisors:

The Technical Information and Telecommunications Discipline Board prepares a list of supervisors meeting the statutory requirements.

2. The score (r) of the interview consists of grades in the following categories:

I. Motivation and interests as well as the proposed scope of research (0-40 points). Winners of the Diamond Grant competition and students who have received the "Minister's Scholarship for students for significant achievements" receive the maximum number of points in this category (40 points).

II. Assessment of language competences (0-10 points),

3. The final result of the interview is equal to the sum of points obtained in point 2.

5. Only applicants who have obtained a grade higher than zero will proceed further in the application process.

6. The applicant who has obtained a total score of minimum 70 points may be accepted to the IDS TUL.

Description of requirements for supervisors:

The Physical Sciences Discipline Board proposes a list of supervisors from among university employees (including those other than TUL) from the research and teaching or research group, putting emphasis on the scientific achievements of potential supervisors obtained in the last four years. 2. The score (r) of the interview consists of grades in the following categories:

I. Motivation and interests as well as the proposed scope of research. Winners of the Diamond Grant competition and students who have received the "Minister's Scholarship for students for significant achievements" receive the maximum number of points in this category (0-40 points).

II. Assessment of language competences (0-10 points),

III. Evaluation of the applicant's previous achievements and scientific and/or artistic achievements related to a given discipline, i.e. articles published in scientific journals or reviewed materials from international conferences included in a list drawn up in accordance with the regulations issued pursuant to Article 267(2)(2)(b) of the Act of 20 July 2018. - Law on Higher Education and Science, publications outside the list 0 points; the number of points the Applicant obtains for the publication is equal to the number of points from the above-mentioned list divided by the number of authors of the work. The applicant may receive a maximum of 20 points for scientific achievements. The maximum number of points is awarded to the Applicant who has obtained 50 points according to the above-mentioned list, other Applicants receive points according to the proportional conversion. (0-20 points).

3. The final result of the interview is equal to the sum of points obtained in point 2.

4. Only Applicants who have obtained at least 35 points from the interview, including at least 5 points in category II, will proceed further in the application process, otherwise the result of the interview will be zero.

5. Only applicants who have obtained a grade higher than zero will proceed further in the application process.

6. The applicant who has obtained a total score of minimum 70 points may be accepted to the IDS TUL.

The Discipline Board proposes a list of supervisors from among university employees (including those other than TUL) from the research and teaching or research group, putting emphasis on the scientific achievements of potential supervisors obtained in the last four years. A university employee who has completed at least 4 slots in the last 4 years for the average number of points for a slot of at least 70 points or is a head of a project financed from external sources and has had at least 4 publications from the JCR list in the last 4 years may apply for the function of a doctoral student supervisor.

The applicant may receive a maximum of 10 points for scientific achievements. The maximum number of points is awarded to the Applicant who has obtained 50 points according to the above-mentioned list, other Applicants receive points according to the proportional conversion. So for 50 points of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education - there are 10 points for scientific achievements (0-10 points).

3. The final result of the interview is equal to the sum of points obtained in point 2.

5. Only applicants who have obtained a grade higher than zero will proceed further in the application process.

6. The applicant who has obtained a total score of minimum 70 points may be accepted to the IDS TUL.

University employees who have not completed at least three of the four slots with works with a point value of at least 50 points per slot according to the new Ministry of Science and Higher Education scoring (including works accepted for printing) cannot apply for the post of a doctoral student supervisor.

Points can also be awarded for other achievements, such as active participation in a scientific conference, active participation in the implementation of a research project and research internships, work in a scientific association (0-10 points).

3. The final result of the interview is equal to the sum of points obtained in point 2.

4. Only applicants who have obtained at least 30 points from the interview, including at least 5 points in category II and at least 20 points in category I, will proceed further in the application process, otherwise the result of the interview will be zero.

5. Only applicants who have obtained a grade higher than zero will proceed further in the application process.

6. The applicant who has obtained a total score of minimum 70 points may be accepted to the IDS TUL.

The Discipline Board proposes a list of potential supervisors from among university employees (including those other than TUL) meeting the requirements of the Act - Law on Higher Education and Science. Only an employee from a research and teaching or research group can become a supervisor. The Disciplinary Board draws attention to the scientific achievements of potential supervisors obtained in the last four years.

II. Assessment of language competences (0-10 points),

III. Evaluation of the achievements and scientific and / or artistic achievements of the applicant related to a given discipline, i.e. articles published in scientific journals or reviewed materials from international conferences, monographs and chapters in monographs (representing Management and Quality Science). Additional points can be awarded for other achievements, such as active participation in a scientific conference, active participation in the implementation of a research project and scientific research internships (0-20 points).

3. The final result of the interview is equal to the sum of points obtained in point 2.

4. Only applicants who have obtained at least 35 points from the interview, including at least 5 points in category II and at least 20 points in category I, will proceed further in the application process, otherwise the result of the interview will be zero.

2. The score (r) of the interview consists of grades in the following categories:

II. Assessment of language competences (0-10 points),

III. Evaluation of the applicant’s past achievements and scientific and / or artistic achievements of the candidate related to a given discipline, including: publications, participation in conferences, participation in research projects, activities in scientific associations (0-15 points). The maximum number of points (15 points), regardless of other achievements to date, is awarded to the Applicant who obtained a total of at least 40 calculation points for publications. The number of calculation points that the Applicant receives for a publication is equal to the number of points from the current list of Ministry of Science and Higher Education divided by the number of authors.

3. The final result of the interview is equal to the sum of points obtained in point 2.

4. Only applicants who have obtained at least 25 points from the interview, including at least 5 points in category II, will proceed further in the application process, otherwise the result of the interview will be zero.

5. Only applicants who have obtained a grade higher than zero will proceed further in the application process.

6. The applicant who has obtained a total score of minimum 70 points may be accepted to the IDS TUL.

Description of requirements for supervisors:

The Control, Electronic and Electrical Engineering Discipline Board proposes a list of supervisors from among university employees (including those other than TUL) from the research and teaching or research group who meet statutory requirements, taking into consideration the scientific achievements of potential supervisors in the last four years.
