While in Brussels, the researchers from the Faculty of Organization and Management attended a productive meeting at the European Commission's Directorate-General for Research and Innovation. Among the participants were Kirsi Haavisto, head of the European Commission's Valorization Policies and IPR Unit, and her colleagues: Iiro Eerola (Police Officer Valorization Policies and IPR) and Federica Baldan (Legal and Policy Officer), as well as Jagoda Janiak, head of the International Cooperation Department of the Polish Patent Office.
The main topic under discussion was the European Commission's plans to further strengthen the area of knowledge valorization. Special attention was paid to methodologies and indicators for social impact measurements. The Commission representatives expressed great interest in the current project, which is intended to contribute to the identification of good practice in knowledge valorization used by universities in the different member countries.
The delegation from Lodz University of Technology also took this opportunity to stop at Amsterdam visit the Inter-University Center for Knowledge Valorization - Innovation Exchange Amsterdam (IXA) in the Netherlands, where they met with the head of the office, Joris Heus. There, the main point of discussion was the role of intercollegiate units and the relevance of individuals responsible for developing and implementing knowledge valorization strategies in research institutions. IXA offers researchers, companies, nonprofit organizations, governments, health care, and educational institutions expert assistance in forging collaborations to generate social impact. IXA staff work closely with representatives of Amsterdam's innovation ecosystem.
The project "Valorization of knowledge at the regional level" is being carried out by the researchers from the Faculty of Organization and Management in cooperation with the Marshal Office in Łódź.
Conclusions from the study shall be presented at a seminar to be held at the Faculty of Organization and Management on December 5.
