Ph.D. student position
 

Requirements:

  • MSc degree in Computer Science, BSc in Telecommunications (or vice versa)
  • Strong research interests and research accomplishments, including authorship or co-authorship of research papers
  • Strong competence in signal processing, understanding basic radar operation principles
  • Experience with developing deep learning or pattern recognition algorithms
  • Excellent programming skills: Python and C++ are a must, as these are the implementation tools to be used.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English (at least at C1 level)
  • Basic knowledge of French is necessary
  • The candidate with MSc degree is required to enroll into a PhD program (unless this requirement is already fulfilled) at the International Doctoral School, Lodz University of Technology

 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Design and implementation of radar signal processing and analysis algorithms
  • Design and implementation of analog hardware-friendly data classification methods.
  • Design and execution of chip prototype testing experiments
  • Analysis of experimental data, evaluation and fine-tuning of methods
  • Participation in preparation of research papers

Conditions of Employment:
Mothly compensation: 4000.00 Polish zlotys
The position is available from February 1st 2020 to September 30th, 2020.

Project’s scope

Project’s objective is to design, manufacture and test an application-specific VLSI analog integrated circuit that analyzes data provided by short- and middle-range radar for the purpose of vital sign detection and estimation of vital process parameters. A task for Lodz University of Technology team is to develop analog hardware-friendly AI algorithms and architectures for the task realization.
