TUL in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings



Lodz University of Technology is one of the twelve Polish universities to be represented in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. The best 1,102 higher education institutions have been ranked.

 

For the second time, the University of Oxford has claimed the top position in the rankings. The University of Cambridge is ranked in second place, whereas Stanford University and the California Institute of Technology in joint third spot. 

 

The University of Warsaw, which is the highest standing Polish university, is ranked in the 6th one hundred of the higher education institutions listed. AGH University of Science and Technology, the Jagiellonian University and Warsaw University of Technology all feature in the 601st - 800th band. Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Gdańsk University of Technology hold their positions in the 801st - 1000th band, whereas  Lodz University of Technology, the University of Lodz and the University of Gdańsk have their positions in 1001st+ spots.

 

The THE World University Rankings are one of the three most valued international rankings, the other two being the ShanghaiRanking ARWU (Academic Ranking of World Universities) and the QS World University Rankings. Only universities whose research output has exceeded 1,000 publications indexed by the international SCOPUS database in the five years immediately preceding the year of the rankings can be included in the international league table.
