The medals commemorating the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining national sovereignty were presented to several dozens of citizens of łódzkie voivodeship. Among artists, athletes, former opposition activists, and scholars, was professor Jan Krysiński, former rector of Lodz University of Technology.
The decoration was awarded on the following principle:
Paying tribute and expressing the highest regard for the generations of Poles who with their stouthearted struggle to preserve Polish national tradition contributed to Poland regaining its independence after 123 years of subjugation, aiming to celebrate the exceptional 100th anniversary of Poland regaining its national independence and to commemorate the re-emergence of Poland as a sovereign state, pursuant to Resolution No. 70 of the Council of Ministers of May 8th 2018, upon the motion of the voivode of łódzkie, professor Jan Krysiński is awarded the commemorative medal"
Professor Jan Krysiński, a scholar. For many years, the head of the Institute of Turbomachinery in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, TUL; Former rector of TUL who served four terms in office (1990-1996 and 2002-2008); Former president of the Conference of Rectors of Polish Universities of Technology. Originator and organizer of the Music at Lodz University of Technology - live music performance series with a 25-year-long history.
