Two Gold Medals awarded to inventions of TUL



Two Gold Medals awarded to inventions of Lodz University of Technology scientists at the 45th International Exhibition of Inventions - Geneva 

 

The Marshal Office of Lodz Voivodeship participated in the exhibitions, which made it possible for Alumetal-Technik, Łódź and Peripol, Bełchatów and dr hab. inż. Jacek Sawicki of the Institute of Materials Science and Engineering to present two solutions developed at TUL. Both inventions were awarded a Geneva Innovations Gold Medal.

 

'An optomechatronic system of ongoing quality control in abrasive blasting' developed by the TUL's Institute of Materials Science and Engineering and Institute of Electronic Engineering was one of the inventions. Dr hab. inż. Jacek Sawicki, dr inż. Robert Olbrycht, mgr inż. Paulina Byczkowska, and mgr inż. Antoni Rzepkowski authored the invention. The solution is protected by European Patent Application and is being commercialized.

 

The other gold medal was awarded to 'Cellulose-based material for manufacturing pipes and round pipe connectors for gating systems in foundry technology'  - an invention made at Institute of Materials Science and Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, TUL, by dr hab. inż. Jacek Sawicki i mgr inż. Zbigniew Zawieja. The invention has been patented.

 

Geneva Inventions is the largest and most prestigious exhibition of its kind. This year, over 720 exhibitors from over 40 countries exhibited their inventions. Altogether, almost 1000 innovations were presented.
