TUL’s scientists receive five medals during the Bangkok exhibition



Lodz University of Technology scientists returned from the International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation and Technology Exposition IPITEX 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand, with four silver and one gold medal. Two innovations received additional awards from international associations.  

 

The gold medal was awarded toThe Biotextronics System for Prophylactic and Support Treatment of Lower Urinary Tract Inflammation developed by mgr inż. Emilia Frydrysiak, prof. PŁ Krzysztof Śmigielski, dr hab. inż. Michał Frydrysiak.

 

The silver medals were awarded to:

 

  • The Device for Measuring Femur Displacement and Method of Making Orthopedic Measurements during a Surgical Procedure to Correct a Damaged Hip. The innovation was additionally recognized with the Honor of Invention awarded by the World Invention Intellectual Property Associations. The authors of the invention are  prof. Leszek Podsędkowski, dr n.med. Michał Panasiuk, dr inż. Agnieszka Kobierska, mgr inż. Adam Niewola and  inż. Mateusz Szaniewski.
  • The Optomechatronic Method for Continuous Inspection of Abrasive Blasting Quality developed by prof. PŁ Jacek Sawicki, dr inż. Robert Olbrycht, mgr inż. Paulina Byczkowska, mgr inż. Antoni Rzepkowski.
  • The Cellulose Mixture for the Production of Pipe Fittings and Joints with Circular Cross-Section Used in Gating Systems in Foundry Industry. The innovation also received the British Innovation Award. The authors are: prof. PŁ Jacek Sawicki, mgr inż. Zbigniew Zawieja.
  • Light Weight Composite with Mineral Filling. The authors are: prof. PŁ Jacek Sawicki, dr hab. inż. Konrad Dybowski, dr inż. Mariusz Stegliński, mgr inż. Anna Staszczyk, dr inż. Andrzej Obraniak.

 

The IPITEX exhibition in Bangkok is one of the most prestigious events of its kind in Asia. This year, it was held concurrently with the Thai Inventor’s Day. The exhibition  was organized by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), an organization reporting directly to the government of Thailand and responsible for the implementation of the research and development policyand promotion of innovation.
