Poland is represented by a small group of 4 universities - apart from TUL, the University of Łódź and the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (with positions in the 201-250 range) and the Wrocław University of Technology (in the 151-200 range) have also been classified.
Leading the ranking is the University of California, followed by the Australian National University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
The ranking lists the best universities in the world established in 1945-1966. It is named after the "golden age" in the global higher education system marked by swift development of universities and considerable increase in investment in research.
