The Council of the National Center for Research and Development is comprised of 20 members who represent the scientific, socio-economic, and financial communities. The Council also includes persons designated by specific ministries (10 people). The newly appointed Council will convene this year, on December 19th.
For professor Niedzielski this will be his second term in office and one to take another four years, until 2022.
Professor Piotr Niedzielski is a prominent specialist in surface engineering and an author or co-author of dozens of scientific publications, patents and industrial implementations. At Lodz University of Technology, he serves as vice dean for science in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, TUL. He also holds the position of Head of the Division of Biomedical Engineering and Functional Materials and Deputy Head for Research at the Institute of Materials Science and Engineering, TUL
Professor Niedzielski's research interests focus on nanotechnology, biomaterials, new materials manufacturing and their applications to medicine, sensorics, etc.
The Council of the National Center for Research and Development fulfills an advisoryand opinion-forming role as regards the implementation of strategic programmes specified in the National Research Programme, and other research and development projects (bilateral projects, sector projects, international projects, etc.).
