The first stage of the investment has been planned to cost more than 57 million zł. It includes, among others, a conference and education centre with a lecture theatre with a seating capacity of 500. The Ministry of Science and Higher Education provided a grant of 45 million zl. The construction contract was signed on January 21 (Monday) by TUL's Rector, prof. Sławomir Wiak and representatives of the contractor, Łukasz Liberski - Commercial Director and Marek Janowski, Budimex S.A. Regional Director.
The building complex to be built along Żeromskiego Street was designed by prof. arch. Marek Pabich of the Lachman Pabich Architekci. - The structure designed by prof. Marek Pabich is beyond beautiful. The investment fits well with the character of what is unique to Lodz University of Technology campus, namely, the amalgam of post industrial architecture and modernity - prof. Sławomir Wiak, TUL's rector said - During the first stage, a five-level building will be built along Żeromskiego Street on Campus A.
On the ground floor of the new building, there will be a conference room with the area of 200 m2 and a seating capacity of 100. This is where the senate of TUL will convene.
- We sincerely hoped to be able to contract with Lodz University of Technology and we succeeded. Our operations are countrywide. We have offices everywhere Łódź included. And everywhere, TUL's graduates work for us - Marek Janowski, BUDIMEX Regional Director said on executing the agreement and went on to add- We are starting tomorrow.
Within three days of signing the contract agreement, the investment site will be put at the disposal of the contractor. September 30, 2020 has been set as the completion date.
