Dr Michal Jacek Binczarski (Chemical Sciences, International cooperation: 44.4%; publications in Top 10 Citation percentile: 22.2%).

His scientific interests include the processing of waste biomass in the associated biological and chemical processes into fuels, fuel additives, and chemicals.

In particular, he has been investigating catalytic processes in which supported palladium catalysts and polymetallic systems based on Palladium are used.

He also works on the scale-up processes; he is the co-inventor of the apparatus for acidic hydrolysis of biomass and catalytic bioethanol coupling into biobutanol of semi-industrial scale.

He has participated in projects funded by the National Centre for Research and Development (Poland): INNOTECH,ID 150409; PBS ID 177056; Biostrateg II, ID 296369; Biostrateg II, ID

297310 and he is currently engaged in a project financed from the European Regional Development Fund: Single-module mobile installation for the production and processing of furfural at the place where bio-waste is generated and in a project carried out within the framework of the NCN dedicated to the study of the influence of polyester fibres and chemical finishing agents content on the course of thermally assisted acid hydrolysis of waste from cellulose and natural protein fibres.

He is a co-author of 19 articles in JCR journals with a total IF=61.26 and 226 citations.

He is a co-author of 1 patent, 1 chapter in a monograph, 13 scientific publications in journals from the JCR list.

In 2014, he completed a three-month internship at Beijing Forestry University, China, under the supervision of prof. Zhang Bolin, and in years 2016-2017, an industrial internship in the production plant of the Dobrzelin Branch of the National Sugar Company.
