Council of Lodz University Technology appointed by the Senate

The Senate of the University during its meeting on March 27^th approvedthe appointment of the first Council of Lodz University of Technology. The university council is a new governing body established in the Act on Higher Education and Science.

Pursuant to the Act, the Council is authorized to issuing opinions on draft statutes, draft strategic plans, monitoring financial affairs of the University and the management of the University, nominating candidates for rector upon the Senate's opinion.

The Council of Lodz University of Technology comprises six members. There are three external members: Agnieszka Sygitowicz - Łódzka Specjalna Strefa Ekonomiczna Vice President, dr inż. Tomasz Krysiński - Airbus Helicopters Vice-President Research & Technology, and Dariusz Wojciech Szewczyk - Radio Łódź President and Editor-in-Chief.

The other three members are members of Lodz University of Technology academic staff: prof. Andrzej Bartoszewicz - Corresponding Member of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Head of the Institute of Automatic Control, prof. Wojciech Wolf, Deputy Head of the Institute of General and Organic Chemistry, and dr hab. inż. Jacek Sawicki, prof. PŁ at the Institute of Materials Science and Engineering.
