Social media are an excellent communication channel and a valuable tool of image-building across various audiences and target groups. For years now, Lodz University of Technology has been continually promoting the University by taking advantage of the various social networking sites.
TUL’s facebook profile has a growing number of fans. This is our primary channel of communication with the students. This is where they can get the scoop on the latest achievements of both students and faculty and on interesting events involving the academic community.
We are also active on Instagram – a photo sharing platform. Pictures of TUL’s beautiful campus, snapshots of classes and university events are gaining popularity.
TUL also cooperates with ResearchGATE, a social networking site for scientists. – It is a very helpful tool that lets you keep up to date with research literature by e.g. following research papers of other researchers whose field of expertise is of special interest to you and who also have a profile on the site. Users are automatically notified if such a publication becomes available, says Agnieszka Dybała-Defratyka PhD, DSc, of TUL’s Faculty of Chemistry, a registered user of the site. What is more, users have the opportunity to have their blogs, discussions and topic groups.
