Admission procedures



Admission of Polish students

Admission procedures for foreign students:

Foreign students may apply to be admitted to the Technical University of Lodz, to all kinds of full-time first- and second cycle studies, provided that they know the language of instruction (English, French of Polish, respectively.)

The academic year usually begins in the end of September, while the deadline for submitting applications is 30 June each year.

Along with TUL application form, each candidate should submit the following documents:

·        request for admission to Vice-Rector for Student Affairs,

·        original or attested copy of your Secondary School Leaving Certificate, translated into Polish by a sworn translator and legalized (if necessary, provided with the apostille stamp) by the Polish Consulate in country where it was issued. The certificate should also include information that it gives you right to study in higher education institutions in the country where it was issued, also obtainable at the Consulate.

·        original or attested copy of your mark sheets certifying your extra qualification (such as foreign languege command), also translated into Polish by a sworn translator,

Technical Univerity of Lodz requires command Polish/English/French respectively on B2 level (within Common European Framework).

·        copy of your passport, visa and/or residence card (depending on what kind of residence permission is issued),

·        medical certificate of your physical health,

·        four passport-size photographs,

·        insurance policy (accident insurance and health insurance),

·        proof of financial support (bank statement or scholarship details),

·        proof of 200 EUR application fee payment (non-refundable)

Note: Legalization/Apostille may be only issued by a competent authority designated by the country on whose territory the public document has been executed. Apostilles are issued in more than 80 countries - you should check the list of these countries on http://www.hcch.net/index_en.php?act=conventions.authorities&cid=41. If your country is not on that list, you should contact Polish Consulate to legalize documents. 

After receiving approval from the Dean of the given Faculty and the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, the student should pay in the tuition fee which varies from 2000 – 4000 EUR per academic year, depending on the Faculty. In case of difficult financial situation, a student may apply to be discharged of the costs.

Admission for Erasmus Students

In order to become our Erasmus incoming student, each student is kindly asked to fulfill the documents that can be downloaded from the following web-site:

Applications should be sent toTUL no later than on 30 June for the autumn semester and 15 November for the spring semester. You should receive the confirmation by 15 August for the autumn semester and by the mid-January for the spring semester.

Application is made by using:

· ECTS Student Application Form,

· ECTS Learning Agreement,

· Transcript of Records (from home institution).

You must fill in the Student Application Form. You should already have a precise idea of the programme of study you wish to follow. You have to consult your course selection with the home institution's ECTS Coordinator or your Supervisor.

When the student, the home institution, and the host institution agree about the study programme abroad, they sign the Learning Agreement. This Agreement must be reached before the student leaves for the host institution. The Learning Agreement is a document describing the programme of study abroad and its existence facilitates full academic recognition.

Student may have to modify the agreed programme of study upon arrival at the host institution for a variety of reasons. Agreement for the changes by all the parties must be obtained in order to guarantee full academic recognition of all course units taken abroad. These changes will be indicated on the reverse side of the Learning Agreement.
